Samantha Ecker MS CCC-SLP

I'm a speech language pathologist with over 10 years of experience, and I'm also a mom of 3 little ones. I studied linguistics and language development at Cornell University, and received my Masters of Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I specialize in teaching parents the everyday strategies that will grow their toddlers' language skills.

A little more about me...

I have a preschooler, a toddler, and an infant... so there are a lot of little voices that want to be heard in my home!  The strategies you'll learn in the W.A.N.T. It Way are rooted in research, clinical knowledge, and my own experiences as a mom. Every one of the tools you'll learn is something I've used successfully with my clients and my own children. 


I created the W.A.N.T. It Way so that other parents could learn how to use these same strategies. Ultimately, my goal is to arm as many parents as I can with the tools they need to help their own toddlers communicate freely and successfully.

  • Will The W.A.N.T. It Way help me if my child is not talking yet?

    If your child is still learning to talk and sometimes has trouble telling you what they want, this training is for you. Whether your child is pre-verbal or already has a growing vocabulary, you will learn strategy to maximize their ability to communicate with you. Less frustration, more success and confidence.

  • I don't have the time or energy to do special exercises or activities with my child. Can this training still help?

    Me neither! That puts you in the category of pretty much every (honest) parent I know. That's totally fine. The beauty of the W.A.N.T.   • Can I take this course if my child already gets speech therapy?

    YES! If you have concerns about your child's language development, please get them evaluated by a speech language pathologist. This training does not take the place of individual speech therapy by someone who knows your child and family. However, it complements therapy perfectly! If your child is getting speech therapy, it's probably only an hour or two per week, if that. How many hours per week are you with your child? There is so much potential for you to help your child during those hours! This training will show you how.
